Azilsartan Medoxomil 40mg & 80mg Tablet

Description

Product details

Azilsartan Medoxomil 40mg & 80mg Tablet Azilsmart contains Azilsartan Medoxomil, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) used for the management of hypertension. Azilsartan Medoxomil is a prodrug that is converted in the body to its active form, azilsartan. The active drug selectively blocks angiotensin II AT1 receptors, reducing the vasoconstrictive and aldosterone-related effects of angiotensin II. This helps blood vessels relax, decreases peripheral vascular resistance and supports effective control of elevated blood pressure. Azilsmart 40 mg and Azilsmart 80 mg provide different strength options for individualized antihypertensive therapy. Treatment should be prescribed according to the patient's blood-pressure response and overall clinical condition. Blood pressure, renal function and serum potassium may require monitoring during therapy. Product Variants: Product Active Ingredient Strength Azilsmart 40 mg Azilsartan Medoxomil 40 mg Azilsmart 80 mg Azilsartan Medoxomil 80 mg Uses of Azilsmart: Azilsartan Medoxomil is primarily used for: Management of hypertension (high blood pressure) Long-term blood-pressure control in appropriate patients Use alone or with other antihypertensive medicines when clinically indicated Mechanism of Action: Azilsartan Medoxomil is converted to active azilsartan, which selectively blocks angiotensin II from binding to AT1 receptors. This reduces vasoconstriction and aldosterone-mediated effects, resulting in reduced vascular resistance and lower blood pressure. Possible Side Effects: Potential adverse effects may include: Dizziness Low blood pressure Fatigue Increased serum potassium Changes in kidney function Patients with renal impairment, volume depletion or those using other medicines that affect the renin-angiotensin system may require additional monitoring.
