Actorise 60mg Injection - Darbepoetin Alfa 60 mcg/0.30 mL Composition & Strength

Description

Product details

Actorise 60 Injection contains Darbepoetin Alfa 60 mcg/0.30 mL, an erythropoiesis-stimulating agent (ESA) used for the management of certain types of anemia. It is commonly prescribed for anemia associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and may also be used for chemotherapy-induced anemia in appropriate cancer patients. Darbepoetin alfa acts on the bone marrow to promote the formation of red blood cells. Increasing red blood cell production can help improve hemoglobin levels and reduce anemia-related symptoms such as fatigue, weakness and reduced physical capacity. Actorise 60 is supplied as a single-dose pre-filled syringe and is intended for subcutaneous or intravenous administration. Treatment should be initiated and monitored by a healthcare professional because the required dose varies according to hemoglobin level, underlying condition and individual response. Uses of Actorise 60 Injection 1. Chronic Kidney Disease-Associated Anemia People with chronic kidney disease may produce insufficient amounts of natural erythropoietin, a hormone required for normal red blood cell formation. This can contribute to renal anemia and reduced hemoglobin levels. Actorise 60 provides darbepoetin alfa activity that stimulates erythropoiesis in the bone marrow. Under appropriate medical supervision, it can be used to help manage anemia associated with CKD. 2. Chemotherapy-Induced Anemia Some chemotherapy medicines can suppress bone marrow activity and lower red blood cell counts. Actorise 60 mcg Injection may be prescribed to selected patients receiving chemotherapy when an erythropoiesis-stimulating treatment is clinically appropriate. How Actorise 60 Works Darbepoetin alfa is a laboratory-produced erythropoietic protein designed to stimulate red blood cell formation. It activates erythropoietin receptors on precursor cells within the bone marrow, supporting their development into mature red blood cells. Response to therapy is evaluated through regular hemoglobin and blood-count monitoring, and the dose may be adjusted by the treating physician. Possible Side Effects Possible adverse effects associated with darbepoetin alfa therapy include: Increased blood pressure Headache Hypersensitivity or allergic reactions Injection-site reactions Swelling or fluid retention Seek prompt medical attention for severe symptoms such as difficulty breathing, significant skin reactions, seizures, severe headache, vision changes or signs of a blood clot.
