Lipidator-A 40/75 Atorvastatin + Aspirin Tablets Strength: Atorvastatin 40 mg + Aspirin 75 mg Why Two Medicines Are Combined Lipidator-A 40/75 brings together medicines that address two different cardiovascular risk factors: Atorvastatin 40 mg → helps control elevated cholesterol, particularly LDL-C. Aspirin 75 mg → provides an antiplatelet effect, reducing platelet aggregation. This combination may be prescribed for selected patients who require both lipid management and antiplatelet therapy as part of cardiovascular risk reduction. Ingredient 01 — Atorvastatin Atorvastatin inhibits the liver enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, decreasing cholesterol synthesis and increasing removal of LDL cholesterol from circulation. Its effects can include: Lower LDL cholesterol Lower total cholesterol Reduction in triglycerides Modest improvement in HDL cholesterol Cardiovascular risk reduction in appropriate patients Ingredient 02 — Aspirin At the 75 mg strength, Aspirin is commonly used for its antiplatelet activity. It irreversibly inhibits platelet COX-1 activity, reducing thromboxane A₂ formation and therefore decreasing the tendency of platelets to clump together. Three Safety Areas to Remember BLEEDING Aspirin can increase bleeding tendency. Unusual bruising, prolonged bleeding, black stools, or vomiting blood requires medical assessment. MUSCLES Unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness can occur with statin therapy. Severe symptoms or dark-colored urine need prompt evaluation. STOMACH Aspirin may cause gastric irritation and can contribute to peptic ulceration or gastrointestinal bleeding, particularly in susceptible individuals. Treatment May Need Extra Review When… There is a history of active bleeding, peptic ulcer disease, aspirin/NSAID hypersensitivity, significant liver disease, previous statin-related muscle problems, or concurrent anticoagulant/antiplatelet therapy.
