Zyrop Erythropoietin Injection - Recombinant Human Erythropoietin Composition

Description

Product details

Zyrop Erythropoietin Injection is available in 4000 IU and 10000 IU strengths, with both Vial and Pre-Filled Syringe (PFS) presentations. It contains Recombinant Human Erythropoietin, an erythropoiesis-stimulating medicine that supports the bone marrow in producing red blood cells. Zyrop may be prescribed for the management of anaemia associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and for selected patients who develop anaemia during cancer chemotherapy. Erythropoietin therapy may also be considered in certain cases of anaemia associated with specific HIV treatment regimens. The required strength, presentation, dose and administration schedule should be selected by a qualified healthcare professional according to the patient's haemoglobin level, body weight, underlying condition and response to treatment. Recombinant Human Erythropoietin acts on erythroid precursor cells within the bone marrow and encourages the production of mature red blood cells. This makes Zyrop an erythropoiesis-stimulating agent (ESA) used when increased red blood cell production is clinically required. Therapeutic Applications Anaemia Associated with Chronic Kidney Disease Patients with chronic kidney disease may develop anaemia partly because damaged kidneys may produce insufficient natural erythropoietin. Zyrop may be prescribed to support red blood cell and haemoglobin management in CKD patients, including appropriate patients undergoing dialysis. Chemotherapy-Induced Anaemia Certain chemotherapy regimens can suppress bone marrow activity and contribute to low haemoglobin levels. In selected cancer patients, Zyrop may be used as supportive therapy for chemotherapy-associated anaemia under specialist supervision. Anaemia Associated with Certain HIV Treatments Erythropoietin therapy may also be considered for selected patients experiencing anaemia associated with certain HIV medicines. Treatment depends on medical assessment and identification of the underlying cause of anaemia. Vial & PFS Presentations The Zyrop Vial presentation provides the medicine in vial form for administration by an appropriately trained healthcare professional. The Zyrop PFS (Pre-Filled Syringe) presentation provides a pre-measured injectable format. The appropriate presentation should be selected according to the prescribed treatment requirements. Administration Depending on the specific product and medical requirement, erythropoietin may be administered subcutaneously (SC) or intravenously (IV). The dose and frequency should be determined by the treating physician. Do not self-administer Zyrop unless specifically instructed and appropriately trained by a healthcare professional. Monitoring During Treatment Patients receiving erythropoietin therapy may require regular monitoring of: Haemoglobin and red blood cell response Blood pressure Iron status Relevant blood parameters Clinical response to treatment Adequate iron availability is important for erythropoiesis, so iron status may be evaluated during treatment. Possible Side Effects Possible adverse effects associated with erythropoietin therapy can include increased blood pressure, headache, nausea, vomiting, fever, dizziness, fatigue, body aches and flu-like symptoms. Serious reactions, including severe hypertension, seizures, allergic reactions or symptoms suggestive of a blood clot, require prompt medical attention. Storage & Handling Zyrop should be stored and transported according to the storage conditions stated on the original product label. As an injectable biological medicine, appropriate storage and handling conditions should be maintained throughout the supply chain. Product Specifications
